Hezekiah becomes deathly ill but wants to live. He wants to see his friends and laugh! His eyes grew tired of looking to heaven for help and simply said, "I am in trouble, Lord. Help me!"
God HEARD his prayer and SAW his tears!!!! And healed him.
This once again teaches me about the power of PRAYER and how God is and wants to be so involved in our lives.
Then Hezekiah writes a poem of praise to God. In it he says, "Only the living can praise you as I do today." Hezekiah will sing praises for the rest of his life!
Would Hezekiah have praised the Lord everyday had he not been healed like this? This thought encourages me to praise the Lord every day of my own life regardless! I want to appreciate the Lord always, not just when I am healed! I wouldn't want to get deathly ill to begin with!!
